The Number One Way to Decide – “Is This Really For Me?”
Because tons of choices can be bad for your health.
It’s 108 degrees out and I’m sitting at a table in an air-conditioned Starbucks waiting for my assistant.
And, for my body temperature to cool down so that I can make a somewhat coherent decision. I’m not a Starbucks junkie or frequent flyer. But it’s a great location for us to meet and get some work done.
Staring at the menu items my head spins with the drink options.
New -Cold Brew Coffee. Iced Caramel Macchiato. Espresso Con Panna. Evolution Fresh Cold-Pressed Juice. Handcrafted Fizzio Soda… What the heck?
And of course, there’s always a regular “cuppa joe.” Only it’s not so regular. Blonde Roast Veranda Blend. Medium Roast Decaf Pike Place Roast. I’m suspicious of the plain ole House Blend.
Sitting at the table I close my eyes, take a deep breath, and try to tap into to my inner coffee consciousness.
Nothing. I end up ordering 2 Green Tea Crème Frappuccino’s.
She walks in takes a seat across from me and I slide her drink over. “Geez, I felt overwhelmed with the choices. I couldn’t decide so I went with these.”
“Oh my favorite.” A big smile lights up her sweet face.
She’s happy. That makes me happy.
How many times are you overwhelmed with the plethora of offerings, invitations and choices you are asked to make in the course of a day?
A week? A month? A year? If you’re anything like me it will feel like a lot.
And here I am going to add to your dilemma by sharing with you some incredible ways in which we can connect and work together.
While at the same time I will suggest the most powerful way in which to support you in making the choice that best serves you. So your decision adds to your happiness. Enhances your life.
The number one way to decide if this offering, retreat, program, car, move, career change, relationship, is really for you is to ASK.
Just not in a crowded Starbucks.
First, it’s important to make a commitment to yourself and unplug from outer stimuli on a regular basis. Cut the cord from the every day stressors of your life and create space. Literal space. Space that opens you up to listen to what is really written on your heart.
The key is to ask for clarity, guidance, direction. Ask…Listen…See…
Sometimes the answer is found in the sweet fragrant blossoming of a new bud. The steady oak tree you pass every morning on your walk. The face you see in the clouds. A poem. A song. A friend. Sometimes you awaken and you simply know. Then follow your heart. Take action. And go for it.
There is nothing more spectacular than to take a leap of faith based on your connection to yourself. Your inner wisdom.
That’s not to suggest you may not experience some challenge along the way. But who knows, the challenge may just be another growth edge.
I imagine like me, growth and expansion are core values for you.
If an offering is calling to you please don’t hesitate to reach out so we can have a chat. Maybe even a “cuppa joe.”
Ask…Listen…See…
