Do You Ever Feel Like This?
As if there were a time thief lurking in the shadows under the blanket of night. An entity silently waiting for your head to hit the pillow. Listening patiently for the tell of your breath that you’ve succumbed. Slipped through and fallen down under.
Then it silently reaches out its invisible hand and snatches your seconds away.
When upon waking, faster than you can mutter Rip Van Winkle, whole minutes, days, weeks and months have simply vanished.
Because friends, that’s exactly how I’ve been feeling. I woke up this morning to find that April, May, and June have disappeared and July is knocking soundly at my door. While I haven’t been lazy or idle as dear ole Rip, I am just as surprised by time’s ability to be swallowed up by enterprise.
The moral of this tale is to make sure that you’re balancing your busyness with pleasure. That the effort your putting forth is worthwhile. That if the thief of time is snatching your hours away it’s in service to your San Kalpa or intention of the heart. As well as making joy and play a key component for your life.
When you’re following the call of your San Kalpa be prepared for time to evaporate in front of you. But don’t lose heart. Any meaningful endeavor will demand more of you than you may have initially considered.
But the commitment and dedication of holding to the truth of your intention also supports you in overcoming the challenges that surely arise. I can attest to that as I share with you what I’ve been up to as time was slipping away.
*Sunday, July 9, I hosted a luncheon at The English Rose Tea Room in Carefree AZ to celebrate my mom’s 90th birthday. My heart is filled with gratitude for this occasion. She is an inspiration not only to me, but to all who meet her.
*Tuesday, July 11, I shared the benefits of yoga and meditation on an internet radio talk show called, In The Limelight with Clarissa Burt. Clarissa is all about educating and empowering women. You can find the show on Facebook, click here.
*Saturday, July 15, Steve and I are Bali bound! I can’t believe with all the planning and preparation the time is upon us. We’ll be meeting up with our adventuring pilgrims in Ubud Bali for another Mystic Heart yoga retreat. And for those of you who have been asking, yes – Mystic Heart is returning to Umbria Italy in May of 2018. Details coming soon.
*Sunday, July 23rd, will begin the launch of online retreat I was asked to present on called, The Art of Spiritual Living. Watch your inbox for reminders from me. The list of presenters is amazing and if you’re not able to hop a plane and meet us in Bali be sure to take time and retreat in the sacred space of your own home.
I’m also thrilled to share that my friend, and collaborator, Nancy Dales and I have been working painstakingly to complete a project we started, then was put on hold, over five years ago, The Anusara® Card Deck. The deck is comprised of 60 cards that represent 58 of the poses taught in Anusara Immersions. It is a work of art with Nancy’s yantra design and a learning tool. The cards will be available for purchase very soon on the ASHY website. And my new website.
*September 21-24, I hope to be seeing you on Saturday afternoon when I teach at Sumit Banerjee’s local Soulful Tribe event: http://iamsoulfultribe.com/ – Enter to win 2 free tickets.
And last, but as the saying goes, not least, I’ve just completed the book I’ve been working on for the past two years and excited (and freaked out) to announce the publication date of, The BreakAway Girl – Secrets of a Tantric Yogi, by the end of summer.
So, do your good work. Play. Rest. And follow the call of creativity.
