Need Shri?
Ciao and Sacred Sunday:
Recently I was reminded of the Tantric teaching of Shri as I leisurely strolled through a sea of tulip flowers.
I was struck by the intensity of color, bright bold red to deep garnet, golden sun yellow and orange, lacey delicate pink and white to indigo purple.
My senses were heightened by the magnificence that surrounded me.
Shri is a Sanskrit word with velvety layers of meaning.
In essence, Shri means divine beauty, auspiciousness and creative power.
Walking along the dusty path that separated the rows and rows of tulips, my heart exploded in awe.
That’s what Shri is capable of doing – cracking your heart wide open through beauty instead of pain.
From a Tantric yoga perspective Shri also consists of three principles:
🌹SHRI is that which affirms life and is beneficent
🌹SHRI holds meaning and value
🌹SHRI is generative and abundant
Shri is Divine Radiance and an Expression of Creativity Herself.
Two adults and two dogs living in an RV makes for a very paradoxical Tantric experience.
It sometimes feels a bit claustrophobic and not conducive to quietude. At the same time, it offers so many opportunities to experience Shri.
As I left the tulip farm, I purchased a bunch of lavender buds to place on my traveling puja (altar) next to photos of the goddesses, Durga, Saraswati and Lakshmi.
Observing these delicate buds blossom into their full potential of beauty brings such joy.
Plus, they’re a touchstone to the Divine Radiance I sometimes forget is within me.
And within YOU.
On this Sacred Sunday I have three contemplative questions for you…
🌷How do you embody Shri?
🌷How do you express Shri?
🌷How do you make more Shri?
I’d love to hear your thoughts and insights.
Don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re needing support bringing more Shri into your life.
With love and appreciation, xoxo Paulette
